FARA started up with just a small
group of amateurs a little over fifteen years ago, and has grown considerably
with well over 1,700 names in our data base. What makes FARA unique from other
clubs is that we have had no dues structure until 2003, and the machines are supported strictly
by contributions of
both money and time. Under the FARA "umbrella", there are a total of
seven repeaters in operation. They are listed on the System
Info) page, The repeaters
are open to all licensed amateurs, with
the exception of 145.19,
which is only available by code access. To be eligible to receive the access
codes , we ask that there be financial
support of at least $30 annually (per household as addresses are listed in FCC
updated databases. For those in the Greater
Cincinnati area (or passing through), we have an informal
"get-together" breakfast on the first Saturday of the month, 9:30
a.m., at the Golden Corral Buffet (off I-275 at Exit 39, north on Winton Road to
Kolb Drive (entrance to Forest Fair Mall).
FARA is a non profit organization
located in Ohio near the home of the worlds largest HAMVENTION.
